It is the adaptation of the series of historical novels The Adventures of Captain Alatriste by Arturo Pérez-Reverte , consisting of seven books published between 1996 and 2012 and about the adventures of Diego Alatriste, soldier and mercenary in the service of King Philip IV Spain in the xvii th century.
